It's impossible to get bigger biceps by only working out your biceps and disregarding the rest of your body. Instead, you need a good muscle building routine that will encourage muscle growth everywhere. Which ever routine you choose it should include basic exercises that workout the entire body, and and keep isolation exercises to a minimum. The squat and the deadlift are two examples of the best exercises that encourage muscle growth through your entire body. When you find a good overall routine which includes these exercises you will be laying the foundation to get bigger arms.
When it comes to bodybuilding, often less is more. A lot of people believe that the more sets you perform then the bigger your armsĀ will get. Unfortunately, this couldn't be further from the truth. It's important to keep your sets to a minimum, and focus on improving from your last workout. If you continually work out your biceps they will not have a chance to recuperate properly, and this is counterproductive to your muscle building goals.
You can build bigger biceps with only 2 basic exercises. Focus your routine around Barbell curls and dumbbell curls. If you take the time to talk to someone with big guns, I promise you they utilize these two basic exercises in their biceps workout. Focus on slowly increasing your reps and the amount of weight you use, and you will see your biceps grow over time.
Proper form is critical. You may think this is obvious, but it might surprise you just how many people ignore proper form when they exercise their biceps. One of the main reasons is ego. There are some people who simply use too much weight when their working out, either to boost their own self esteem or to impress the people around them. Be smart and remember, using good form will give you good results.
