In kids soccer drills, it’s a known fact that the coach’s faults bring the teams to a point, from where it’s near impossible to get back on to the winning track. Yes, it’s a fact. Many of you must be thinking that how can there be something so big that can destroy a team. Well, let it be known that there are many.
When it comes to soccer drills for kids, you have to be very careful and strategic. It’s very important for you know the kid’s psychology. Exchange words with them discussing things from their point of view. But it’s really sad that a lot of coaches are still untrained to get used to this. They simply close their eyes to the dissimilarity between teaching adult players and kids.

1. A lot of them consider their jobs as casual work. They don’t consider in necessary to be prompt in reaching the ground, set up the drills, or systematize practice sessions. Such behavior is bad and also has the potential to sadden the kids. Just like the kids, you too should get serious about soccer. Make arrangements for youth soccer drills beforehand. Put together all kinds of equipments which you would need to accomplish the drills.
Be on time. Don’t be the one to reach the field later than the kids. In fact, you should be on the track before the kids arrive. It has the advantage of finding some extra time to practice the drills and plan other things.
2. When the coaches deliver the instructions before the kids soccer drills, they tend to take a lot of time. Have you ever considered how bad that can be? Know that kids come to the field to play and not listen to boring speeches. Keep your instructions brief and to the point. These sessions should be used to boost the confidence of the kids as well as motivate them.
It is extremely vital that the kids are not interrupted while playing. If the kids do anything incorrectly, make a note of it and share it afterwards. Also, observe the kids from outside when they are playing.
3. Some coaches get ruthless and unkind while dealing with the kids. In soccer drills for youth, both the characters can prove disastrous. It is bad to display weak behaviour on the soccer field. It is fine for the kids to make errors. Do not forget that they are children. Never take things very critically and make it an excuse to get bad with the players.
If this happens, you can drive the kids away from the game. Soccer is a game of the intelligent. When you help the kids know the meaning of it, they will love the game.
