Faith healing is a very complicated subject. It includes the topics about the healing from the ailments only because of faith without any medicines. That means if you have faith you will be healed but what of those people who do not have faith but are still healed? The believers of faith healing consider the healing, the result of supernatural acts and they do not approve medical treatment in any way. Most of the believers in faith healing, you will find are Christians. But almost all religions have a strong faith healing branch where you will have to deal with people and healers who heal with different techniques like pranic healing, crystal healing, and reiki too.

Most of the believers of faith healing are also the followers of the supernatural powers. You will be able to find that Christians who read the bible have a strong inclination to believe in miracles and will be willing to follow preachers and faith healers too. This is because the bible is filled with stories about faith healers and prophets who used to heal by faith healing in the same manner and who are now honored for being saints. There is also a separate branch of Christians who believe that the bible with heal and there is no need to resort to medical science to treat sickness and faith healing will work to treat them if they are sick.

Faith healing is good but it has proved to be dangerous for some of the blind followers who lost their kids and kin due to lack of medical treatments and have also been sued for that. These cases have been counted as the case of medical negligence but still we found some genuine faith healers who do the miracles and heal their followers. Spiritual abuse to some extent is prevalent in almost all the sects of the society where charlatans cheat the people of their hard earned money in the name of faith healing.

You will also find some god-men in every religion claiming to be in direct contact of the God and preach themselves as the charismatic leaders of the society. They try faith healing on their followers preaching this as the gift of God to them although they have no scientific reason to prove their claim. You will also find that cults and such believers will not allow doctors to treat their sick people and they will not allow the use of medicines and blood transfusions because of their faith.

But you cannot scorn anyone’s faith. Such cases have been noticed where the sick people have recovered from severe sickness with the help of prayers and meditation only. There may be no scientific reason to believe, but meditation and prayers really work for the human body and they provide the sick person a power to bear the severe pain and to recover from the sickness. Won’t we call it faith healing?
