If you find it difficult getting in and out of the bath because of the high lip to the bath and the slippery surface on the floor of the bath then there is potentially a solution that is not just standing in a shower. The option is to have a shower chair. A shower chair is simply a seat that gets accommodated within the shower enclosure, thus allowing the user to sit down and enjoy the shower rather than continue to stand.
Shower chairs are an eminently sensible choice of equipment for using in your bathroom. There comes a time in your life when using baths are actually quite problematic, not least because of the potential for slipping and doing some serious injury whilst stepping in or out of the bath. You may comfortably sit on a shower chair enjoy the freedom of a convenient wash without putting yourself to any undue physical strain. Clearly, having retractable seat is a great idea.
There are two options for incorporating shower chairs in your bathroom. First choice, though most expensive, is to incorporate a shower chair while you undertake the renovation of your bathroom or decide to have it redesigned. This has the advantage of ensuring you make sufficient room in the enclosures such that use of the chair is not inhibited by the space available. You should remember this and keep it in mind at all times.
The second option and probably the most likely option for most householders is to purchase a portable shower chair for moving in and out of the shower at your convenience. As water resistant materials are used for making of these chairs, they remain sturdy and operational for a long time in the humid and wet conditions that prevail in a bathroom. It's a great way to make your chair last longer.
To cut the long story short, a good and practical choice as an alternative to a bath is a shower chair.
