When creating a yoga space for your yoga business you should have one key objective in mind.  To create a space that fosters the best yogic experience for your students for them to want to keep coming back for more.

Students coming to yoga classes want to have a supportive environment, one that has that yogic, meditative, peaceful feeling and energy.  There are many diverse elements to consider in order to create this.

Tranquility and quietness is paramount for the dedicated yoga space.  Be sure to have found or create a quiet space as noise and interruptions don’t support the yogic state.

Make sure your yoga space is clean and tidy.  All clutter should be thoroughly removed to allow for an easy energy flow.

The flooring should be natural if possible. Wooden or tiles are the best and carpet is to be avoided.

Neutral colours work most effectively avoiding wallpaper that is garish.  Strong patterns can be confusing to the mind and distracting.

Long mirrors can be very useful.  Postural alignment can be checked with the use of mirrors which is of great help for the students so you may want to consider these.

Lighting should be natural if possible.  During the day natural sunlight is best.  Avoid fluorescent lighting if possible.

Temperature and air should be comfortable for a yoga practice.  Ensure there is fresh air in circulation in the studio.

To cultivate ambience music, incense, essential oils and candles can be used.  Be sure to choose all that are appropriate for the type of yoga you are teaching.

After obtaining students you want to be sure to retain your yoga students as this will support your yoga business.  Creating a nourishing, cosy, meditative and intimate space gives a more enriching yoga experience for your students.

The better students perceive the class, the more likely they will be to return.  It is a good thing for your yoga business to have a high student retainer rate.  So do your yoga business a favor and create a fabulous space for your students and yoga business.
